Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Tried Silk Route recently and overall had a good experience. We ordered beef dumplings, chicken fried rice, chilli fried chicken, and fried noodles. The taste across all dishes was quite good—flavors were well-balanced and satisfying. Special mention for the chicken fried rice—it had a unique taste that stood out, though the portion size was on the smaller side compared to expectations. The rest of the dishes were up to the mark and served well. Would definitely consider visiting again, especially if portion sizes are improved slightly."
"Atmosphere - clean, luas and super selesa. Suitable for individual or family. Service - I think the owner who attended us and suggested what menu we should order. Very helpful & friendly. Food - I had been a fan of Hui foods, would say the fried lamb was worth my money. Very tendered and juicy, not smelly & crispy flakes on top added more season for the lamb itself. Fish soup was my comfort food with balance sour & spicy taste. Mushroom is crispy and well seasoned. Price & portion - it just regular for Hui’s restaurant in KL. With big portion they served, it was worth the price. Can share for 3-4 persons actually for one dish. Other facilities - toilet very clean. Also got prayer room. Parking was easy to get on weekend but paid one. Overall - recommended!!"
"A not so hidden gem but absolutely a rare fare, I think, in kl or even Malaysia. Operated by a Chinese Muslim family from China serving Ningxia cuisine, specialising in lamb mutton and beef marinated to beautiful aromatic spices. We ordered telor pindang, kambing goreng jintin, kobis suun telur, and mee daging goreng banjir. Every dish is "out of this world?" kind of feeling, super sumptuous. Service very good, so are the boss and bosslady. A must try for food lovers. Will come again.....!!!! Oh, place is super clean too. 2nd visit on 22nd February. Ordered about the same dishes which again didn't fail to satisfy our palates. The business is thriving, a testament to their quality."
"Came here to treat my big family a farewell dinner. The restaurant is spacious with nice decor. It also has a prayer room and toilet. Since there were 18 of us, including kids, our order was a little confusing, but the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious. Overall, it was a pleasant experience."
"This restaurant has become my office mates regular go-to Chinese Muslim Cuisine. We tried multiple Chinese Muslim restaurant nearby, but this one truly stands out the best. Some of my colleagues' top picks: - Ning Xia Steamed Mutton - Ning Xia Mutton Soup - Steamed Fish with Chili - Village Chicken - Fried Prawn - Stir-Fried Shredded Potatoes (Vegetarian) - Sizzling Cabbage with Sohuun (Vegetarian) - Eight Treasure Tea Love their food, reasonable price (some food lower than others) and satisfied portions. We highly recommend this restaurant for company and family dining."
"Seriously delicious Muslim food! The prices are good, the staff are super friendly, and even the boss comes out to serve you!"
"Good northwest chinese food. Menu specialise mostly beef and mutton. There's fish, prawns and chicken too. Kitchen utensils used are all same, be careful if got allergy to beef. Portions are good size, although pricier but each standard portion is good for 5 to 6 pax (depending big or small eaters). Highly recommend the mulbery tea. Service was ok since restaurant was 50% occupied after rush hour. There's local some staff, can speak Malay. Lady boss friendly, speaks Mandarin only. A good place for muhibah gatherings, as long one does not mind the same utensils for beef. Overall a good experience and will be back again. Downside : even off peak order were a bit slow but then ahead of us was a big table with more than 10 dishes ordered. Parking - private parking, payment by card, TnG."
"Service is good, very attentive. Food is authentic. Taste is Out of all the dishes we tried, definitely recommend the flat noodle with sirloin…noodle is thick and chewy, super nice. Price is $$$ but common for a restaurant of this quality and the portion is big too. Do come here with a big group or if you have a big appetite. Definitely nice to come for a special dinner Parking is easy to find but it is a paid parking."
